Tiny computer on module (COM) designed for digital signal processing and product prototyping
You can design and run Simulink® models as standalone applications on Gumstix® Overo hardware, which combines a tiny computer on module (COM) with an expansion board for digital signal processing and product prototyping applications. Gumstix Overo COMs feature an ARM Cortex-A8 processor with performance up to 1GHz. The supported Chestnut43 and Tobi Gumstix Overo expansion boards both provide stereo audio, USB, and Ethernet support. In addition, the Chestnut43 supports a 4.3” resistive LCD touchscreen while the Tobi supports HDMI output.
Gumstix Overo hardware helps students understand the workflow for designing an embedded system without using manual programming. Students can use Simulink to create algorithms for digital signal processing applications. They can apply industry-proven techniques for Model-Based Design to verify that their algorithms work during simulation. They can then implement the algorithms as standalone applications on Gumstix Overo hardware using the ARM Cortex-A8 processor.
