Designed as an introductory text to optimization methods and theory at the senior undergraduate and beginning graduate levels, this book helps students build a solid working knowledge of the field, including unconstrained optimization, linear programming, and constrained optimization. The revised third edition contains additional chapters on semidefinite programming, Lagrangian algorithms, global search methods, and multiobjective optimization.
A variety of exercises using MATLAB are provided at the end of each chapter. Optimization Toolbox is also briefly mentioned. In addition, a supplemental set of MATLAB M-files is available for download.
