4G LTE System Design with MATLAB

In this webinar, we show how you can use MATLAB® and its signal processing capabilities in the iterative process of analysis, modeling, simulation, and implementation of 4G LTE wireless standards.
Starting from underlying mathematical principles, we discuss how to start with a simple communications system composed of just a modem (modulation and demodulation) and an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and progressively add components such as turbo coding, channel modeling, multicarrier transmission (such as OFDM), and multi-antenna techniques (such as MIMO) to create a physical layer model of a 4G LTE system.

Highlights include:
• Modeling, simulating, and visualizing the performance of the communications system in MATLAB
• Incorporating components such as modulators, channel models, convolution coding/Viterbi decoders, turbo encoders/decoders, MIMO, and OFDM into your model using Communications System Toolbox™
• Performing system-level throughput analysis with adaptive modulation based on channel characteristics
• Accelerating the speed of your MATLAB simulation at each step through parallel processing, code generation, and efficient algorithms
• Automatically generating C code from your MATLAB model with MATLAB Coder™
• Prototyping and testing your model as a standalone desktop C/C++ application

About the Presenter: Dr. Houman Zarrinkoub is a senior product manager responsible for Communications System Toolbox. He joined MathWorks in 2001 as the development manager for signal processing products. Prior to joining MathWorks, he spent six years at Nortel Networks as a research engineer specializing in speech processing for wireless systems.
